Three-piece forged NPT threaded union in Stainless Steel 304/316, Duplex Steel and Super Duplex Steel per MSS SP-83 — Class 3000#, enabling full pipe disassembly without rotating either pipe end.

The Forged Threaded Union is a three-piece fitting that creates a fully demountable joint in a threaded piping system. Both pipe ends are screwed permanently into the two end pieces (male end and female end), each carrying female NPT pipe threads. The central hex union nut threads onto the female end piece and draws both end pieces together, compressing their precision-machined ground joint faces to create a metal-to-metal pressure seal without any gasket or sealant tape at the joint face.
To break the joint, the union nut is unscrewed, releasing both end pieces and allowing the piping on either side to be separated freely without rotating the pipe. This makes the threaded union the standard demountable connection for equipment isolation, maintenance access and future tie-in points in screwed piping systems. Cunimet Alloy International supplies all three pieces as a matched set machined from the same material grade.
“L” = Overall assembled length from face to face. “W” = Union nut hex width across flats. Thread form NPT per ASME B1.20.1. Sealing face is flat face (FF) metal-to-metal. All dimensions in millimetres.

Unions supplied as complete three-piece sets (male end, female end and union nut) of the same material grade. Dimensions per MSS SP-83 latest edition. All dimensions in millimetres.
Female NPT thread one side for the pipe. Male convex sealing face on the other side. Union nut shoulder bears on this piece. Pipe end is permanently screwed in before union assembly.
Threads onto the female end piece. When tightened, draws both end pieces together to compress the flat face metal-to-metal seal. Nut unscrewed to break the joint without pipe rotation.
Female NPT thread one side for the pipe. Female concave sealing face and external nut thread on the other side. Second pipe end screwed in permanently before union assembly.
Austenitic stainless steel threaded unions for demountable joints in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and water treatment screwed piping systems. SS 316 for chloride-bearing service and wherever pitting corrosion at the joint location must be prevented.
High-strength duplex alloy threaded unions for demountable joints on offshore process piping, chemical plant instrument loops and desalination piping where the union nut, end pieces and sealing faces must all provide equal corrosion resistance.
Premium super duplex threaded unions with PREN greater than 40 for demountable connections in seawater service, subsea systems and aggressive offshore environments where uniform corrosion resistance through every component of the three-piece assembly is mandatory.
Installed adjacent to pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and filters in screwed piping systems to allow the equipment to be disconnected from the piping for maintenance or replacement by unscrewing a single union nut.
Creating demountable connections at inline instruments, control valves and isolation valves in screwed piping where the instrument or valve must be removed for calibration, replacement or servicing without disturbing adjacent pipework.
Providing break points in corrosive chemical process screwed piping in Stainless or Duplex Steel where system sections must be demountable for chemical cleaning, inspection or future modification.
Steam tracing, compressed air, nitrogen and plant water threaded piping systems where union break points at equipment connections provide practical maintenance access throughout the facility without cutting pipe.
