Manufacturer & Exporter of Forged Fittings — Threaded Fittings | Socket Weld Fittings | Branch Outlets
Integrally reinforced 45° lateral branch outlet in Stainless Steel 304/316, Duplex Steel and Super Duplex Steel — butt-weld, socket weld and threaded ends available, manufactured to MSS SP-97 and ASME B16.11.
The Latrolet is a forged integrally reinforced branch outlet fitting designed for 45-degree lateral branch connections on pipe runs. Unlike the Weldolet (which exits the run pipe at 90 degrees), the Latrolet is contoured on its base to seat on the run pipe at 45 degrees, directing the branch outlet at a 45-degree angle to the run pipe axis. The forged body provides the full reinforcement required at the branch opening in the run pipe wall, eliminating the need for a separate reinforcing pad, saddle or additional weld metal.
The 45-degree lateral exit angle reduces the turbulence and pressure drop at the branch connection compared to a 90-degree tee or standard outlet, making the Latrolet particularly suited to slurry, high-velocity gas and two-phase flow lines where the abrupt directional change of a perpendicular branch would cause excessive erosion or pressure loss at the connection point. The branch end is available as butt-weld (BW), socket weld (SW) or female NPT threaded to suit the branch pipe connection type.
The Latrolet base contour is machined to the run pipe OD. Branch end type (BW/SW/THD) and schedule are specified separately. Dimensions comply with MSS SP-97 requirements for integrally reinforced branch outlet fittings.

Austenitic stainless steel Latrolets for 45-degree lateral branch connections on chemical, pharmaceutical and process piping. SS 316 specified for chloride-bearing and offshore service where pitting resistance at the branch weld zone is required.
Duplex alloy Latrolets for lateral branch connections on offshore process, desalination and chemical injection piping where the 45-degree branch angle reduces turbulent erosion in high-velocity or two-phase flow service compared to a perpendicular branch outlet.
Super duplex Latrolets with PREN greater than 40 for 45-degree lateral branch connections on seawater injection, offshore topsides and subsea piping where the lateral angle combined with maximum corrosion resistance minimises flow-induced erosion at the branch point.

Lateral branch connections on slurry, catalyst and abrasive particulate flow lines where the 45-degree entry angle significantly reduces erosive wear on the branch outlet bore wall compared to a perpendicular 90-degree branch connection at the same flow velocity.
Branch connections on high-velocity gas mains, gas-liquid separator inlets and two-phase flow headers where a 45-degree lateral angle reduces turbulence and pressure drop at the branch take-off point and minimises liquid dropout at the connection entry.
Piping layouts where structural congestion, pipe rack geometry or equipment nozzle orientation prevents a perpendicular 90-degree branch and the 45-degree Latrolet angle allows the branch to be routed without the additional 45-degree elbow that would otherwise be required.
Integrally reinforced lateral branch connections on offshore process piping, refinery main headers and chemical plant distribution lines in Duplex or Super Duplex Steel where a single forged Latrolet provides full reinforcement without a separate pad weld.
