Manufacturer & Exporter of Forged Fittings — Threaded Fittings | Socket Weld Fittings | Branch Outlets
Integrally reinforced branch outlet with female NPT coupling end in Stainless Steel 304/316, Duplex Steel and Super Duplex Steel — full coupling-length female NPT thread at the branch outlet, manufactured to MSS SP-97 and ASME B16.11.
The Coupolet is a forged integrally reinforced branch outlet fitting that combines the contoured base of a Threadolet with a full coupling-length female NPT internal thread bore at the outlet end. Where a Threadolet provides a short female NPT thread at the outlet, the Coupolet provides the full engagement depth of a standard threaded half coupling, giving a longer, more robust female thread engagement for the branch pipe or nipple that connects to the branch outlet.
The base of the Coupolet is forged and machined to the exact outside diameter contour of the specified run pipe, and is fillet-welded to the run pipe at a drilled branch opening in the same manner as a Threadolet or Weldolet. The fitting body provides the full integral reinforcement required at the branch opening without a separate reinforcing pad. The extended coupling-length female NPT thread at the outlet end engages the male NPT thread of the branch pipe, nipple or instrument fitting with significantly greater thread contact than the shorter threaded end of a standard Threadolet.
The longer thread engagement of the Coupolet is preferred where the branch connection is subject to bending loads from instrument weight, valve weight or thermal movement of the branch pipe, as the longer engaged thread distributes bending stress over more thread turns than the shorter Threadolet engagement.
The coupling-length thread engagement “E” is equivalent to the standard engagement length of a threaded half coupling for the same branch NPS per ASME B16.11. Base contour is machined to the specified run pipe OD. All dimensions in millimetres.

Run pipe schedule must be specified when ordering. Thread engagement equivalent to ASME B16.11 half coupling for same branch NPS. 100% female NPT go/no-go gauge inspected per ASME B1.20.1. All dimensions in millimetres.
Austenitic stainless Coupolets for screwed branch connections with extended female thread engagement on chemical, pharmaceutical and process piping. SS 316 for offshore and chloride-bearing environments where the full coupling thread length provides greater corrosion allowance in the thread engagement zone.
Duplex alloy Coupolets for screwed branch connections where heavy valve or instrument weight creates significant bending moments at the branch outlet, and the full coupling thread engagement of the Coupolet is required to distribute these loads within acceptable stress limits at the thread contact faces.
Super duplex Coupolets with PREN greater than 40 for screwed branch connections on seawater service, offshore topsides and subsea pipelines where the coupling-length female thread provides both the required corrosion resistance at every thread surface and the extended engagement needed for heavy instrument connection loads.

Branch connections for heavy pressure transmitters, gauge valves, control valves and ball valves where the weight and wind/seismic loading on the instrument or valve creates a significant bending moment at the branch outlet, requiring the full coupling thread engagement of the Coupolet to keep thread stress within design limits.
Small-bore screwed instrument and utility connections on process pipe headers and distribution manifolds in Stainless Steel or Duplex Steel, where the Coupolet combines branch reinforcement and extended female NPT thread in a single weld-on fitting, eliminating the need for a separate half coupling above a Threadolet base.
Chemical injection and process sampling branch connections where the branch nipple or injection quill is subject to vibration from the injection pump or process flow, and the longer female thread engagement of the Coupolet provides greater resistance to thread loosening under vibration compared to the shorter Threadolet engagement.
Instrument and valve branch connections on offshore topside and platform piping in Duplex or Super Duplex Steel where the coupling-length female thread provides the required engagement for screwed connections subject to combined pressure, temperature cycling and platform motion loading at every branch outlet point.
